Staycation at The Oakwood Premier Manila

July 15, 2015 by Richard

Oakwood Premier Manila Check In

Oakwood Premier Manila is one of the full serviced apartments in the Ortigas Central Business District. I’ve been to the Nostalgia Lounge (prev. Oakroom) a couple of times but have never really thought of staying there because it is less than 10 minutes from our house.

Oakwood Premier Manila lobby

One weekend they offered us and Jane’s family a one bedroom suite each for the night to try out their facilities.

You can park and come out in the adjoining office building, Joy Nostalg Center of get dropped off at the Oakwood Premier entrance on Topaz Road. The lobby was spacious and had lots of natural light. Check in was a breeze and within minutes we were off to our room.

Oakwood Premier Manila Living Room

We had no idea what to expect from the one bedroom suite when we opened the doors. We were greeted by this living room that was super spacious plus the dining area.  There’s enough couches in the living room to entertain guests or kids can watch their own programs like Lauren did.

The One Bedroom Suite measures 86-94 square meters and is priced at P6,500 nett and P7,700 nett with breakfast for two.

Oakwood Premier Manila Dining

Oakwood Premier Manila Kitchen

Beside the entryway is the kitchen with complete appliances and even a washing machine. The amenities are perfect for the long staying guests who want to do their own cooking and laundry. They’ve thoughtfully provided a clear file with instructions for everything in the room.

Oakwood Premier Manila TV

Lauren entered the room and immediately commandeered the living room and told us to stay in the room. She set up her laptop on the table and connected her music to to the Bluetooth speakers provided (under the TV).

Oakwood Premier Manila Bedroom

Oakwood Premier Manila Bedroom TV

The bedroom is one of the most spacious I’ve ever seen. There’s a super  comfy bed in the middle as well as a lounge chair on the side. There’s another TV, albeit smaller and a dressing table for our use. I had one of my best sleeps in a long time in that bed, by the time I opened my eyes it was 9:30am and we had to rush down to have breakfast served in the Nostalgia Lounge.

Oakwood Premier Manila View

Here’s the view from our unit/room, we can see Podium and it’s ongoing construction.

Oakwood Premier Manila Toilet

The toilet is also another beauty, separate mosaic tiled shower with steam bath capabilities. Irene tried it out and was happy with the steam.

Oakwood Premier Manila Bath Tub

There a separate tub which Lauren made full use of because of the TV on the counter top. She can not only relax in the tub but can watch her shows too. His and hers sinks are provided so there’s no need to jostle each other to get done quicker.

Oakwood Premier Manila Platters To Go

Oakwood Premier Manila has Platters to Go for those people who just want to stay in and relax in their rooms. They have Chicken Tikka Masala with pita bread, Giant Halo Halo, and Burritos as well as wine and cheese. We were not able to eat the chicken tikka masala so we brought it home and ate it for the next few days. It’s good with the pita but trust me it’s even better reheated and poured all over rice.

If you wan to venture out, you can head on over to Podium or walk a block or two to The Breadery in Emerald Ave. for excellent bread or Toby’s Estate in Ruby road for superb coffee.

*Tip* – To get to Toby’s Estate just cross the building across Oakwood with a Mini stop on the ground floor.

Since Jane was rarely in our area, we decided to have dinner outside and decided on a restaurant we both have not eaten at which turned out to be Locavore.

They have a kids play area, spa, gym and a pool, all of which we did not use because of how comfortable the room was.

The one bedroom suite is so spacious you could fit 10 people and it would still be comfortable except for the line in the bathroom. We enjoyed our stay so much we recommended it to Irene’s nephew when they were doing their school projects and they also enjoyed their stay and reluctantly checkout out after 3 days.

I recommend a stay in Oakwood Premier Manila if you are looking for a place right in the heart of Ortigas with all the space you will need with top notch amenities.
