The Oakroom at the Oakwood Premier – Joy Nostalg Center has a nice Jazzy Sunday Brunch that happens from 12 to 3pm. There’s a mix of breakfast and lunch items that have an American cuisine theme.
A 3 piece Jazz ensemble provides the appropriate musical background as you enjoy the buffet spread created by Chef Jerome Cartailler.
The decor continues the American jazz theme conjuring up images of a lazy stroll thru New Orleans.
You have your breakfast staples like cereals and milk with a number of toppings to jazz it up.
BACON is another holdover from the breakfast spread.
Different breads with jams and butter if you want some morning carbs.
Salad…. okay pass on this one and move on to the more meaty dishes.
Skip the salad station and have them whip you up a plate of Caesar Salad instead.
The Eggs Benedict looked nice but I felt this should have been a made to order dish. You need to eat the egg hot to ensure it is runny.
I zeroed in on the smoked salmon bagels they’ve thoughtfully cut into quarters for easy taking as well as consumption. If you want to skip the cream cheese and bread, they have a whole plate of plain smoked salmon.
The Barbecue Baby Back Ribs and Oyster Rockefeller were enjoyable but the Jambalaya was a bit dry.
At the carving station, a slab of Roasted Rib Eye was taking center stage in all its meaty glory.
The Honey Glazed Baked Ham was the surprise favorite though. This was discovered by my ham loving wife, Irene. She served as the ham’s brand ambassador telling everyone to try it to everyone’s delight. You can even get some bread and make a delicious ham sandwich.

No bun Philly Cheesesteak, Bacon Wrapped Sausage, Mac N’ Cheese, Corn Cobs (clockwise from top left)
I paired the carving station meats with some sides like the Mac and Cheese, Corn Cobs
The Oakroom has food for the kids to enjoy like fish sticks, hotdog, fried chicken and chicken fingers. My picky daughter, Lauren enjoyed herself with these before moving on to dessert.
For the creative eaters, they’ve got a pasta station where you can assemble your perfect dish.
The best looking dessert was this apple pie topped with a creative animal carving made from what else but apples.
The glazed donuts were pretty topped with colored sprinkles which of course made Lauren get a couple of them, she can’t resist sprinkles.
The Jazzy Sunday Brunch happens every week from 12pm to 3pm for only P1,250 net. So if you are looking for a relaxing, music filled brunch on Sundays, you might want to check this out.
