Tech Tales: Yell 8800 mAh Energy Pack Review

January 25, 2015 by Richard

Yell 8800 Energy Pack

I love my gadgets as much as the next person so I constantly run out of battery using them for all sorts of things. The more things a gadget can do, be it a phone, tablet or a phablet,  the more battery it can consume. I recently tried out the Yell 8800 mAh Energy pack to see if it can meet my needs.

Yell 8800 Energy Pack Container

I got the Yell 8800 Energy Pack at Digital Walker in Shangri-la Plaza Mall for P2,150. I picked the bright yellow color for high visibility both inside the bag and on a table. It also comes in Blue, Green, Red, and Pink colors and 11,200mAh capacity.

You won’t be rummaging around for it nor forgetting it when leaving a place. The packaging is simple with just a cardboard sleeve with all the pertinent data indicated and a clamshell plastic container that doubles as a carrying case.

Yell 8800 Energy Pack contents

Pop open the clamshell plastic container and you’ll see the battery pack on one side and micro USB cable and instruction sheet on the other. The container is also convenient for storing other charging cables so you don’t accidentally leave them at home.

Yell 8800 Energy Pack Size

Here’s a side by side of the Yell with my iPhone 6 plus to give you an idea how big it is. The Yell can fully charge my iPhone 6 plus about 2-2.5x so it will definitely last me the whole day which include hours of games which really drain the battery.

It comes with 2 usb output ports, a 1A and a 2.4A which you can use simultaneously to charge two devices. The ports can even be accessed without removing the battery pack from the container. This option really came in handy when we were in Hong Kong last year with the family. We had multiple devices that needed to keep juiced up and the Yell performed upto par.

Yell 8800 Energy Pack Charging

There are 4 indicator lights that shows how much juice your battery pack still has left. To see these lights, you just need to give the Yell 8800 a little shake. A full charge for the battery pack takes around 6 hours.

The Yell 8800mAh Energy Pack retails for P2150 in all Beyond The Box, Digital Walker and  Digital Hub branches.
