The Sweet Studio is a little store in Greenhills that evolved from a home baking business started by Ada and Aby Chua. Their first store is a charming space for their cakes and pastries as well as some decor items. You might miss the place, tucked in a commercial space beside a hodge podge of business.
The brick walls adds a cozy feel and kept the small size from being cramped. There are a few tables to sit and enjoy the cakes plus a small display case for their available products.
I was already expecting the visit to The Sweet Studio to be filled with cakes and pastries but their savory pies were what surprised us.
We tried all three of their pie products, Spinach & Mushroom, Tuna and Chicken (P50/each). Each one was densely packed with real ingredients. My favorite was the chicken with a perfect mix of chicken and veggies and the slightly spicy tuna.
The first pasty we tried was the Plain Nana (P200/loaf). They serve it with cream cheese frosting that is so addicting that you’ll be spreading it evenly all over. Sweet and tasty bread with a touch of cinnamon.
Here’s something you don’t see often, a Pecan Tart (P130/slice). Cookie dough pie topped with oven roasted pecans.
Sea Salt Caramel Brownie (P80/slice). Baked brownie with cream cheese frosting, sea salt caramel and toasted pecans.
Their best seller, Sea Salt Nutella Torte (P130/slice) was the last one we tried. Served chilled with layers if meringue and and toasted hazelnuts with generous amounts of Nutella and topped with seas salt whipped cream. I may not be a fan of Nutella (sacrilege!) but I really enjoyed this cold and crunch filled dessert.
A small space with big products from both the savory and sweet corners.
