Tokyo Tokyo has two new offerings for their Seafood Festival, the Seafood Ramen and the Grilled Salmon Teriyaki Bento. The two new dishes are already available at all Tokyo Tokyo branches nationwide and will give more options for people who adore seafood like me. I’m equally happy eating seafood as I am eating meat. My favorites are lobsters, shrimps and salmon, raw or grilled, all are equally delicious. The fact that seafood is light and healthy is just icing on the cake so I can eat lots more.
The Seafood Ramen (P140/snack, P190/regular) uses a pork broth as a base and tops it with crab stick, tofu, shredded, cabbage, nori/seaweed, egg, spicy ground pork and a prawn tempura. The ramen bowl might not be totally pork free but is a nice balance between the two, each bringing their own flavor to the mix. There are also nice play of texture with the crunch tempura, soft and silky tofu and the slightly spicy ground pork.
The Grilled Teriyaki Salmon bento (P139/1 pc, P209/2 pcs.). I was surprised at the generous amount of grilled salmon in this bento order. You can see the two fillets filling up their protein section of the box. The smoky grilled flavor plays really well with the sweet teriyaki glaze and will definitely appeal to Filipinos love for salty and sweet. To keep you filled up, there’s misono vegetables and unlimited rice. Upgrade your bento (P274) to a set for miso soup, red iced tea and a dessert cup of your choice.
