UCC Coffee Shops debuts their new menu, a more streamlined and elegantly designed menu. The UCC coffee shops in the Philippines served a lot more food than similar stores in other countries. They’ve got a good range of options from all day breakfasts to sandwiches and filling rice meals to go with their coffee concoctions.
The Herbed Chopped Salad (P320) is a nice option for those looking for a lighter meal. The grilled rosemary chicken provide the protein while the veggies are tossed in a spiked (alcoholic) dressing.
Iced Cafe Au Lait (P170) is a nice sight. Iced coffee and fresh milk that seeks to meld together when they serve it to you. Mix it with the straw before enjoyed to get the flavors right.
Some items from UCC Clockwork like the Pulled Pork Grilled Cheese (P290) and Curry Spaghetti (P280) have made it’s way into the menu. The pulled pork makes the classic grilled cheese a bit heftier. The curry spaghetti is a favorite of ours, don’t lets its unphotogenic looks fool you, this is one tasty dish with bacon and onion cooked in a tomato curry sauce.
Taking inspiration from sister restaurant, Coco Ichibanya , UCC has lots of options for the comfort Japanese curry rice. We got the Cheese Sausage Curry (P390). Hearty curry with mild heat paired with crisp cheese filled sausage make for a filling and quite enjoyable plate. Other curry options are Chicken Katsu, Ebi Fry, Chicken Teriyaki, Pork Katsu, Hamburg Cheese, and Vegetable.
Spanish Callos Rice Casserole (P380). Baked rice smothered with white sauce and mozzarella cheese topped with tender callos. Other rice casserole options are Chicken Teriyaki and Japanese Hamburg.
They also have lighter pasta choices like the Roasted Vegetable Pesto (P280) or the Spicy Seafood Puttanesca (P480).
For dessert, we had two drinks from their iced blended coffee line. Irene had the Coffee Frappe (P180), espresso blended with milk and ice and topped with whipped cream. I tried the Mocha Jelly (P180), with lots of chewy UCC coffee jelly added into the chocolate and coffee blended drink.
Have you tried the new dishes at UCC Coffee shops? What did you think of them, any favorites?
