I’m not usually the guy to go for theatrics or antics but looks like my friend, Richie is starting to rub off on me. Here I was donning my Vikings pointy hat, looking in the green yonder for heaps of food plunder.
Vikings Luxury Buffet opened their 1st Southern store in SM BF. The branch is located on the 2nd floor of this fairly new, upscale leaning mall. We headed to the mall after picking up Lauren from school to attend the grand opening. We were a bit early so we walked around SM BF, it being our first time setting foot at this particular mall. The mall reminded me a lot of SM Lanang in Davao.
The previous branch I visited was the one in SM Jazz which had a European feel to the place. I contrast, the SM BF branch makes use of more earth tones and feels light and cozy.
There’s an interesting multihued chandelier made of acrylic that is an eye catcher.
The interesting ceiling lights does not stop at the entrance, these molecular looking ones in black in white give the main dining area a quirky touch.
I won’t delve into details regarding the food at Vikings Luxury Buffet are pretty similar.
The Japanese section make have attracted the most diners but these three Chinese appetizers were what caught my fancy.
At the carving station I had Jerk chicken (good flavor but a little dry) and lamb leg.
Chinese station minus the usual roasted meat hanging in front so it looks much cleaner and wider.
The Italian section had nice, colorful jars of sauces.
One of the interesting things I saw was this Squid Ink pancit dish.
The hot Japanese section has teppanyaki dishes done ala minute by these two chefs.
My fave is still the drinks, I had way too much again to the chargin of my tummy as it could not fit food anymore.
Western and Filipino desserts are ever present in Vikings, made in bite sized portions so can taste more of them. Lauren was super looking forward to the frozen yogurt she devoured in SM Jazz but they did not have it that night. She contented by finishing off 8 pieces of crepe. Halo-halo was also missing that night, to Irene’s disappointment.
There’s a nice mural serving as a backdrop to the many different toppings for the ice cream and chocolate tower stations.

your wish is my command, done.
It looks similar but a bit different from the SM Jazz branch. I love the chandelier though. Very eye catching. I have a feeling I won’t be able to try this branch though because it’s too far from me. I am curious about that squid Ink pancit though, the SM Jazz branch doesn’t have that one.
Okay I just realized I used “though” a lot, so sorry hahaha…
hahaha. Thanks for checking out my post. Maybe they’ll add it to the food rotations in the other branches soon. There’s so many Vikings branches already so we all go where we are closer to, I still love the SM Jazz interiors the most.
