Yummy Soy is a Singaporean franchise that specializes in soy milk and chilled beancurd (taho). I was able to visit their 2nd store in The Fort Strip, sandwiched between K-Pub and Modern Sichuan. Their first store is located in Robinson’s Place Manila, a mall I hardly ever visit so its a wonder I never knew they opened in the Philippines. Looking at that cute logo triggers a memory of seeing it in Singapore, but I never got a chance to try it out.

The Fort Strip store is small and a little oddly located,  sandwiched by two humongous restaurants. Parking is a bit scarce there but they are doing some renovation to add some more. The store has 2 small tables and a bar counter area if you choose to eat there.

Yummy Soy has 3 products only, Soy Milk (hot or cold), Chilled beancurd and Slurppy. Their menu is compact and easy to navigate. I just find it a waste to use a LCD tv to display menus especially something as simple and easy to understand as Yummy Soy‘s.

The chilled beancurd (P75/plain, P85/flavored), their signature product, should appeal to everyone that loves taho. The beancurd is jiggly and super smooth, it just slides down your throat. It is available in 6 variants namely plain, almond, strawberry, hazelnut, chocolate and white chocolate. I got to try the plain, almond, chocolate and strawberry. I loved the plain and almond while the chocolate was pretty good too. I’d pass on the strawberry, it just something I did not enjoy.

The chilled beancurd comes without toppings, which costs an extra P10 for the pearls or coffee jelly and P15 for the strawberry pop. My recommended toppings are the pearls for the a classic taho feel and coffee jelly for something different.

Their other signature product is the Soy milk, available hot or cold. Flavors and toppings can be added for extra payment.

Slurpy (P75/original, P85/flavored) is described as something in between chilled beancurd and soymilk. I feel the chilled beancurd is a much better deal than the slurpy. It is smaller in size but costs the same.

Yummy Soy is perfectly located for me since Irene can pass on the way home from gym in Fitness First. She actually just bought 6 plain chilled beancurd last Monday. It seems that you get them at P400 only a discount of P50.

The price is a bit high considering how much taho costs but you are buying a superior product and you are assured of cleanliness. I think this is something that will replace my milk tea cravings, plus it’s so much healthier.

I like yummy soy! Equally good which I tried recently and much cheaper is Mr Bean (Php 45 a cup). Also a franchise from Singapore. It only has 1 flavor though – Classic. You might want to try too.
